The Pocketeers let us know that they have released their latest game cOnnecticOn for the PlayBook. It is built on IwGame which is a open source free to use cross platform game engine built on top of the Marmalade SDK. The Pocketeers created the physics based game cOnnecticOn in just three days for four different platforms including the PlayBook using their markup based engine.
The game cOnnecticOn works by you creating cOnnecticOn Strings to clear the screen of bugs from another dimension. Its a sort of puzzle game with 3 zones and 10 rounds per zone with 20 custom rounds. You can even build your own levels in the game.

| What Do You Want RIM to Improve or Add in PlayBook OS 2.0? Posted: 15 Mar 2012 02:50 PM PDT
RIM has reiterated many times that PlayBook OS 2.0 is just a stepping stone to BlackBerry 10 and the future of the BlackBerry platform. They recently released PlayBook OS 2.0 and I already want more. We are hearing multiple reports that RIM is already running PlayBook OS 2.1 internally but I wanted to reach out to the community and ask what you want RIM to improve in the current PlayBook OS 2.0. I have my own list of improvements like a password manager in the browser but let us know what your list is in the comments and we will compile it and pass it along to RIM. Lets see if we can make it happen! What do you want RIM to improve or add to PlayBook OS 2.0? PS: I believe that small refinements are also key areas for RIM to improve as they build out BlackBerry 10 so feel free to share them! | Traffic Wonder Puzzle Game Ported to the BlackBerry PlayBook! Posted: 15 Mar 2012 12:21 PM PDT
YoAmbulante has ported their Traffic Wonder puzzle game to the BlackBerry PlayBook this week. The game has you guiding the colored vehicles to the appropriate destination by tracing the path for each car and then sending them off without colliding into each other. Things get complicated as cars slow down for turns or having faster cars. Traffic Wonder is definitely one of those PlayBook games you will want to pick up and it is super cheap at only $0.99 in App World. | BlackBerry 10 Jam Developer Conference Announced for May 1st-3rd Posted: 15 Mar 2012 11:08 AM PDT
RIM has just made a very curious announcement for developers. They let us know about a new BlackBerry 10 Jam conference that will be run concurrent to BlackBerry World on May 1-3 in Orlando. This BlackBerry 10 Jam conference will be focused on BlackBerry 10 development unlike RIM's regular DevCon conference which covers all BlackBerry development. The BlackBerry 10 Jam conference will actually be held at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Fl which is close but does not seem to be walk-able to the Orlando World Center Marriott where BlackBerry World is going on concurrently. (Google Maps) RIM is running BlackBerry 10 Jam to highlight the benefits and opportunities for BlackBerry 10 development. RIM also confirms once again that BlackBerry 10 will launch "later this year." The cost for the full conference pass is only $299. This also gives you access to the BlackBerry World Party, Keynote, and Welcome Reception in the Solutions Showcase. The hugely popular Poynt app for BlackBerry smartphones got an update today to v1.8.6 today. The new update brings support for the latest devices along with other updates. The change log they included in the description shows:

| Free Lemma PlayBook Twitter App Gets a Small Update Posted: 15 Mar 2012 08:55 AM PDT
The open source Lemma Twitter client for the PlayBook got a small update to v1.1.8 this week. Their blog details that this update adds one often requested feature of viewing more than 50 tweets at a time. Now you can just click on the "touch to load more tweets" button to get access to more. | Sideload Free ConnectBot SSH Client on Your PlayBook (Android) Posted: 15 Mar 2012 07:57 AM PDT
I mentioned yesterday that I was on the hunt for a solid SSH client for my PlayBook. As I told you yesterday their is a native port of the popular PuTTy opensource client for the PlayBook but the dev who ported it is charging $4.99 for the pleasure. @Oleg_Bolshakov suggested an alternative of using the popular open source ConnectBot Android SSH client and porting it to the PlayBook. He pointed out a thread on a Russian forum (Google Translate) where Vladimir Mahilev did just that and shared the BAR file for anyone to sideload. Personally I am not sure how many of you can trust an SSH client from an unknown Russian website but you can always convert the APK for yourself. Let us know how it works for you if you do try it! | Future Mobile Fusion & BES Questions Answered by RIM Posted: 15 Mar 2012 07:56 AM PDT
RIM has not done a phenomenal job of clarifying their future strategy for BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) and the recently released Mobile Fusion. The message has been confused into some thinking that RIM is killing off BES and just simply using ActiveSync like any other smartphone. RIM started correcting this error by stating that Mobile Fusion is "The Next Generation of BES" and now Alan Panezic, VP Enterprise Product Management @ RIM has taken to simplifying it even more on the BlackBerry business blog. For example, here is his explanation about ActiveSync:

Quite a few users let us know that UberSocial pushed out a small update yesterday to their free Twitter client. At first we didn't get a change log so we did not know if it was worth mentioning but BBRocks scored one from the App World update. Check out the change log below:

We told you last year about Zello (Previously LoudTalks) releasing a free beta of their Push to Talk app for BlackBerrys. BBNews.pl noticed that Zello has finally gone official in App World offering cross platform push to talk walkie talkie like capabilities for BlackBerry users. Right now the service seems to be free and hopefully it will stay that way. Zello has clients for PC, BlackBerry, and Android with iPhone support coming.
