RIM Is Not Hiring iOS Devs for BBM Cross Platform

Posted: 23 Mar 2012 06:30 AM PDT

BlackBerry BusinessEarlier this week the media noticed that RIM had posted a job listing for an iOS developer.  The media ran a frenzy because you know the idea of BBM going cross platform has been in the rumor mill for more than a year now. That is not the case with RIM using Mobile Fusion to broaden their support for multiple devices in the enterprise market they need to be able to understand this platform. That is where the job listing comes in. A spokesman for RIM told AllThingsD, who originally ran the speculating story the following:

In order for BlackBerry Mobile Fusion to perform advanced management functions for iOS devices, RIM will develop an on device client to be included as part of the overall solution,"

As a colleague said this should come to no surprise and we may even expect them to hire other platform developers in the future. RIM needs to be able to support Android, iOS and BlackBerry devices with Mobile Fusion and they can only do it by having people on board that understand these platform.
