ReadOnTouch

Sven let us know that he has released ReadOnTouch PRO for the PlayBook. ReadOnTouch is a WebWorks based client for the popular Pocket-Client (previously known as ReadItLater.com but now www.getpocket.com) service. Pocket-Client lets you save content to read later especially offline. ReadOnTouch is a nice interface for the service which makes it easier to read things on the go.

If you are a fan of Pocket-Client or want to find an easier way to read content on the go check out ReadOnTouch PRO for $1.99 in App World. Hopefully the developer will add a free trial soon.

As we said before this game is what they call a "2D Puzzle Platformer" which is sort of a mix between Lemmings and side scrolling games like Mario Bros. You can check out this cross platform trailer below to see how the gameplay works:

Free Compose Email PlayBook App Is Like A Homescreen Shortcut

Posted: 26 Apr 2012 05:43 AM PDT

 feature-525

One of the things I have been missing on my PlayBook is homescreen shortcuts. RIM is going to open up some of the API's necessary for developers to integrate apps with the PlayBook OS and native Email, Calendar, and Contacts but that has not stopped devs from trying. The same bloke who won our BlackBerry 10 Jam Unconference contest, Will, let us know that he created a very simplistic and easy to use "Compose Email" PlayBook app. It simply fires up a fast email composition screen where you type in the subject and body. It then shoots it over to the native email app for sending.

screenshot1 screenshot2

Features:

  • Compose email in Portrait or Landscape
  • Integration with the native Messages App
  • Automatic copy-to-clipboard
  • Copy & Paste
  • Launches faster than Messages
  • Matches style of the 2.0 Messages, Contacts, and Calendar apps

While this app is simplistic now I am hoping Will is taking Compose Email along with his previous Many Notes app down to BlackBerry 10 Jam next week to get it a makeover with Cascades and the APIs RIM may release at the conference. Until then check out Compose Email free in App World.
