Jingu Avatars, Free for the Long Weekend

Posted: 03 Aug 2012 02:38 PM PDT

If you're using a BlackBerry, chances are you have come across one (or more) of Jingu's popular apps. Already well known for their Text, Smileys, and Friends apps, the one that you may recognize most is their Avatar app; the one that allows a user to create and share their own custom animated avatar. While the standard app is – and will remain – free in BlackBerry's AppWorld, the kicker is the in-app purchases; the cool add-ons that normally run a user $3.99 to unlock. Well, good news folks! To kick-off the long weekend, starting today at 12pm and running until Monday August 6th at midnight, Jingu has made the aforementioned goodies free of charge; yup, you read that right!

So if you're in a creative mood, click here to download the app for free from BlackBerry's App World and have some fun with it!

Remember: this offer expires on Monday at Midnight so don't miss out!

PlayBook 4G LTE Complete Rogers Pricing Information Leaked

As we already know from yesterday’s press release the new BlackBerry PlayBook 4G LTE will be launched in Canada on August 9, 2012 and will be available from Bell, Rogers and TELUS. Now, we have a leaked document via a MobileSyrup tipster and leaked details of the pricing structure for the new PlayBook on Rogers.

Rogers customers can expect to see  this pricing for the PlayBook 4G LTE:

  • 1-Year Contract: $499.99
  • 2-Year Contract: $449.99
  • 3-Year Contract: $349.99

It has also been announced that the PlayBook 4G LTE will be sold by Bell and TELUS without a contract for $549.99. TELUS’ official statement (via MobileSyrup) on the pricing was:

“The PlayBook 4G LTE will be selling at full price from all Canadian providers listed above for $549.99.”

I wonder how long it will take for pricing information to come out from the other providers or to become official from Rogers now that the cat is out of the bag.
